BUSINESS SEMINAR: EXPANDING TRADE AND ECONOMIC LINKAGES WITH SOUTHEAST ASIA

Southeast Asia Business Seminar, Auckland, 15 April 2010

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade (MFAT) and New Zealand Trade and Enterprise (NZTE) will host a Southeast Asia Business Seminar on 15 April in Auckland. 

 The objectives of the seminar are to:

  • inform businesses of the essential elements under the Agreement establishing the ASEAN-Australia-New Zealand Free Trade Area (AANZFTA), Malaysia-NZ FTA (MNZFTA) and the New Zealand-Thailand Closer Economic Partnership including rules of origin and certificates of origin and how the agreements inter-relate;
  • build the capability of New Zealand companies in doing business in Southeast Asia through case studies and panel discussions with businesses currently exporting to/operating in the region;
  • provide a strategic overview of New Zealand's FTAs with Southeast Asia partners;
  • explain the expanding network of FTAs in Asia and how it relates to business and operational plans.

The seminar will be opened by the Hon Tim Groser, Minister of Trade.  

Business people and officials from Southeast Asia will attend the seminar.
